Candied Pears

Candied Pears

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 1/2 cups


  • 2 cups diced pear
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pear liquor, such as Poire William
  • 1 vanilla bean, split in half and scraped of seeds
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger


  • Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for 12 to 15 miutes or until the almost all of the liquid has reduced down to a syrupy consistency.

    Remove the vanilla bean before serving. The vanilla bean may be reserved and used again for another purpose.
