- 2 cups diced pear
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons pear liquor, such as Poire William
- 1 vanilla bean, split in half and scraped of seeds
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
Combine all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for 12 to 15 miutes or until the almost all of the liquid has reduced down to a syrupy consistency.
Remove the vanilla bean before serving. The vanilla bean may be reserved and used again for another purpose.
