- 1 pound brussels sprouts, ends trimmed
- Coarse salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
- Crushed red pepper, optional
- 1 tablespoons minced garlic, optional
Heat water in a saucepan. Place brussels sprouts in a steamer basket and set over water. Steam brussels sprouts for 10 to 12 minutes or until fork-tender. Transfer to a bowl. Add salt, butter, and nutmeg and toss to coat along with the crushed red pepper and garlic if desired. Serve immediately.
