Hot Spiced Cider

  • Yield: About three gallons


  • 2 1/2 gallons apple cider
  • 1 orange peel
  • 5 whole cloves
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/8 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoons grated nutmeg
  • 1/2 fifth of dark rum (325 ml)


  • Combine all the ingredients in a large stockpot. Heat the mixture liquid until it comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for four hours.
