Ginger Syrup


  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1-ounce ginger root stem, peeled and roughly chopped


  • Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes. Cool and use the syrup to moisten cakes, sweeten tea, or over your ice cream.
