Buttermilk Pancakes

Instructions

Mix and sift the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Combine the egg and buttermilk; add the flour mixture and beat until smooth. Add butter or oil. Bake on preheated griddle until golden brown.

Makes about 1 1/2 dozen pancakes

  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg, unbeaten
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter or vegetable oil
