Gulf Coast Community Giving Now Exceeds $2 million
NEW ORLEANS, LA (May 1, 2008) – Emeril Lagasse Foundation announced $580,000 in grants awarded to educational programs and summer camps in the New Orleans area, bringing the total contributions to Gulf Coast organizations since Hurricane Katrina to over $2 million.The programs receiving support will provide New Orleans youth with nutrition and culinary education, innovative arts enrichment programs, and life skills development.
Nola is proud to once again participate in the New Orleans Wine and Food Festival during its seventeenth production, May 20th – 24th. This year, Nola is teaming up with California-based Hyde de Villaine, and Oakville East for a private winery dinner, and will be featuring the best and most unique labels these vintners have to offer. Nola sommelier John Hoff and Chef de Cuisine Mike Ruoss are working together to create the perfect blend of culinary flavors to pair with these outstanding wines. The month of May brings one very special day to mind – the day on which we all celebrate the most important people in the world, our mothers! Mother’s Day is just around the corner, on Sunday, May 11th. At Emeril’s Delmonico, we’re excited about our upcoming Mother’s Day Brunch, where we’ll have a selection of Chef Spencer’s brunch specials, as well as our classic brunch menu, featuring signature items such as our Delmonico Poached Egg – two poached eggs with house-cured, smoked pork loin, creamed spinach, toasted brioche and crawfish hollandaise sauce. To add ambiance to the atmosphere, New Orleans favorite chanteuse Julia LeShae will be performing live in our bar area, serenading our guests as they sip their eye-opener cocktails. Five Louisiana Chefs Honored with Prestigious Title
New Orleans — Louisiana Cookin’ magazine is pleased to announce its 7th annual Chefs to Watch awards. The award honors and highlights five young chefs who have been in their current position for less than five years and are producing menus and preparing dishes that are fresh, innovative takes on traditional Louisiana ingredients and cuisine.
The 2008 award goes to Chef David Bridges, Bella Fresca, Shreveport; Chef Justin Devillier, La Petite Grocery, New Orleans; Chef Spencer Minch, Emeril’s Delmonico, New Orleans; Chef Jude Tauzin, Catahoula’s Restaurant, Grand Coteau and Catahoula’s on Pinhook, Lafayette; and Chef Sue Zemanick, Gautreau’s, New Orleans.Read more »

Trumpet and Emeril’s Restaurant remind New Orleans “When you have water, make water-aid”
New Orleans, March 17, 2008: Emeril’s Restaurant and Trumpet join chefs and agencies across the country in support of UNICEF’s Tap Project (www.tapprojectnola.org) – a campaign that, during the week of March 16th, will encourage patrons to donate a minimum of $1 for the tap water they would normally get for free or for bottles of water purchased. All of the proceeds will go to UNICEF’s clean water programs, which aim to improve access to safe water and sanitation facilities in schools and communities, while promoting practices in more than 90 countries around the world.
