Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse named a popular area chef to lead the kitchen at his lone Polynesian-Asian themed restaurant.

ORLANDO, FL (Thursday, February 12, 2009) – Revered Chef Emeril Lagasse has named Gregory Richie to lead the kitchen at his Polynesian-Asian restaurant Emeril’s Tchoup Chop as Chef de Cuisine. Emeril’s Tchoup Chop is located at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando and serves dinner seven nights a week, from 5:30pm-10:00pm Sunday-Thursday, and until 11:00pm Friday-Saturday.

Lagasse takes his first-ever Asian concept to a new level with the inspired creations of Chef Richie – a veteran of popular fine dining establishments in Orlando, Hawaii, Georgia and South Carolina. David McCelvey has rejoined Emeril’s Homebase, Chef Emeril Lagasse’s restaurant company, as vice president of operations and culinary, the company announced last week.

McCelvey worked for Emeril’s for 15 years before joining Chipotle Mexican Grill’s corporate headquarters in Denver in 2007.

In his new role, he will oversee Emeril’s team of chefs and regional directors at the company’s 10 restaurants.

Emeril’s also said Doug Doran has been named director of operations for Emeril’s three Florida restaurants — Emeril’s Tchoup Chop in Orlando, Emeril’s Orlando and Emeril’s Miami Beach.
