Emeril Lagasse Kicks It Up a Notch at the Counter

New Emerilware™ Kitchen Electrics Offer Maximum Flavor with Minimum Hassle

West Orange, NJ (June 29, 2006) — Whether you are a master chef adding to your cooking collection, or a kitchen rookie looking for home appliances to make your life easier, Emerilware’s new assortment of kitchen electrics will meet any cook’s needs. Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse and T-fal®, the world leader in electrical cooking appliances, have partnered to develop products that will deliver dishes in weeknight time with weekend taste. Available in November, the Emerilware Fryer, Grill & Panini Maker, and Steamer retail from $99.99 to $149.99.

“We’re looking forward to our partnership with Emeril,” said Scott Meyer, president and CEO of T-fal. “This new line combines our dedication to developing quality products for every kitchen with Emeril’s passion for creating professional-tasting meals you can prepare at home. The result is products that offer a combination of form, function and quality. It’s a win-win for the home cook.”

This new line of small electrics expands the Emerilware collection, which includes cookware, a full line of kitchen accessories, bakeware and specialty products, such as smokers. Each new kitchen electric product comes with five recipe cards developed by Emeril himself, so every home chef can put the BAM!™ back in their kitchen – Lagasse style! “I demand a lot from my kitchen equipment,” said Chef Emeril Lagasse. “Each of these new kitchen electrics has passed my own personal test, and they each maintain my standards for high quality. All three pieces were designed to help the home cook prepare great tasting meals for the family, and to really kick things up in the kitchen!”

The new Emerilware Fryer takes frying to a new level by heating oil super hot for crispier foods. After use, the oil is drained and filtered into a separate storage compartment, which makes for extra-easy clean up. The stored oil can then be used multiple times (typically up to 15 sessions). An oil change indicator light lets the cook know when it’s time for an oil change. With the exception of the heating element, all parts can be tossed into the dishwasher or cleaned in the sink. And, its digital timer and temperature ready light take the guess work out of frying – so chicken wings will turn out golden brown, not charcoal black. The Fryer retails for $149.99.

The Grill & Panini Maker will create tasty summer grilled dishes all year long. Its versatile hinge allows for three grilling positions: traditional, open flat for larger crowds or oven-style for delicate foods. The Grill & Panini Maker’s heating elements are in direct contact with food, so it sears the meat and vegetables to lock in juices. The two drip trays collect unwanted fat, leaving nothing but the intense flavor of grilled foods. The Emerilware Grill & Panini Maker is the only indoor grill on the market that is dishwasher safe. Simply remove the electronic control and toss the rest in the dishwasher or the sink for a thorough, hassle-free cleaning. The Grill & Panini Maker retails for $99.99.

The Steamer makes cooking a healthy meal for the whole family as simple as pour and fill. After pouring water in the water reservoir, fill the generous 40 cup capacity steamer baskets with vegetables or meat and see for yourself how the “turbo” boost brings steam to peak levels to quickly seal in flavors and nutrients. If you need to open the steamer during use, one push of the turbo button will get full steam back quickly. The individual steaming compartments and juice collector allow you to cook pungent foods like shrimp and broccoli at the same time without combining flavors. Even when you’re distracted, the “keep warm” function will shut the steam off but keep the food warm – so you don’t have to worry about overcooking. And, its reversible cooking tray is perfect for cooking foods with extra liquid. Use it with other compartments or by itself. The Steamer retails for $99.99.

Like all of Emeril’s cookware lines, these new small electrics were designed with the consumer in mind to make cooking great meals easy. With quality, genuine T-fal non-stick cooking surfaces, easy-to-clean elements and cool touch handles for added safety, Emerilware’s small electrics help ensure that your next family meal will make it to the table with ease.

The products will be available in November in specialty and regional department stores nationwide.
