LAS VEGAS (October 27, 2010) – Delmonico Steakhouse, Emeril Lagasse’s renowned steakhouse at The Venetian in Las Vegas, has published its fall “Book of Whiskey” – featuring over 260 selections from around the world. Delmonico is one of a handful of restaurants in the nation to have assembled a deep collection, noted by breadth of countries of origin, depth in mature aged spirits, excellent presentation and service.
Guided by Emeril’s mixologist and beverage manager Max Solano, the whiskey list is noted for its depth and balance, providing the diversity to pair several whiskies with any of chef de cuisine Sean Roe’s dry-aged prime steaks and nightly seafood specials. The list spans over five countries, with most hailing from Scotland – The Highlands, Lowland, Islay, as well as the various Isles, Campbeltown, and Speyside – as well as single malt and blended varieties from Ireland.
“Wine and spirits has always been a foundation of Emeril’s restaurants, especially in the high-end dining world of Las Vegas,” says Max Solano, beverage manager at Delmonico Steakhouse. “Our friends and small distillers in the industry have provided us with some of their best rare bottlings and small allotments. We’re so proud to introduce this special book of whiskey to our guests – they all pair perfectly with Chef Emeril’s signature cuisine.”
From the United States, the list includes an impressive compilation of bourbon, Tennessee and rye varieties, as well as aged and un-aged selections from craft distillers such as Death’s Door White Whiskey and St. George Spirits Single Malt.
Notable additions to the portfolio include Glenfiddich 31 year, Vintage 1976; Glen Grant 40 year, Vintage 1964, Jewels of Scotland; Springbank’s extremely rare 25 year “Dearly Departed”; Talisker 25 year and Strathisla 42 year, Vintage 1967.
Delmonico Steakhouse is open for lunch daily from 11:30am-2:00pm and dinner Sunday-Thursday from 5:00pm-10:00pm, and Friday-Saturday from 5:00pm-10:30pm.
