New chef at Emeril’s Tchoup Chop

Celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse named a popular area chef to lead the kitchen at his lone Polynesian-Asian themed restaurant.

Gregory Richie was named chef de cuisine at Emeril’s Tchoup Chop, which is in the Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando.

Richie is best known for his time spent at Roy’s Restaurant in Orlando, where he helped open the Hawaiian fusion restaurant in July 2000. He served as executive chef and partner until 2006, when he became a restaurant consultant.

While at Roy’s, Richie collected several accolades, including chef of the year and best local chef.
