Simple Syrup

  • Yield: 2 1/4 cups


  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water


  • Combine the sugar and water in a medium, heavy saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil without stirring.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool.
  • Pour the syrup into an airtight container and place in the refrigerator to cool completely (about 2 hours) before using.
  • Use as needed.
