Steamed Rice
Instructions
Put 1 cup rice and 2 cups water in a heavy saucepan. Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon butter, margarine, or vegetable oil. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the water is completely absorbed. This makes 3 cups cooked rice.
