– September 28, 2011 – Emeril Lagasse Foundation announces the first-ever Boudin & Beer, a new outdoor charity food and music event, presented by Abita Beer and hosted by Emeril Lagasse with chefs Mario Batali and New Orleans’ own Donald Link on Friday, November 11.  Boudin & Beer will take place at The Foundry and outdoors in New Orleans’ warehouse district off Tchoupitoulas Street, with New Orleans’ favorite restaurant chefs sharing a taste of their signature creations alongside top regional chefs and culinary food stars, all in support of children’s arts and educational programs. This new nighttime food and music celebration is the latest addition to Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s hugely successful charity food and wine event Carnivale du Vin, which will take place the following night on Saturday, November 12. Emeril’s Raises Nearly $50,000 for New Orleans Culinary Arts High School with “A Dish That Makes a Difference”

NEW ORLEANS (November 10, 2010) – In the first of its kind Emeril Lagasse Foundation fundraiser, guests dining at Emeril Lagasse’s restaurants in October helped raise an unprecedented $46,950 through purchasing dishes created by high school students. The money raised will go to establishing a new culinary arts program with the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) and the design and construction of a new state-of-the-art commercial teaching kitchen to house the school’s culinary program. $10 from Each Dish Sold to Help Build New Teaching Kitchen at NOCCA

$100,000 Grant from Emeril Lagasse Foundation to Complete Culinary Arts Center

NEW ORLEANS (September 10, 2010) – Emeril Lagasse Foundation invited aspiring young culinary students at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) to create an original dish inspired by the traditions of Louisiana’s Creole cuisine. Chef Emeril Lagasse and a panel of New Orleans chefs and restaurateurs will select the winning dish from three finalists based on taste, presentation, creativity, use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and representation of Louisiana’s cuisine.

Emeril Lagasse Foundation also announced today a $100,000 grant to fund the final stages in the development of a four-year culinary arts program at NOCCA. Emeril Lagasse Foundation is the founding partner in the effort to establish a four-year culinary arts program for high school students and has granted over $500,000 to develop curriculum for the program. The school is expected to admit its first students to the culinary arts program in spring 2011. Read more »

BATON ROUGE (August 10, 2010) – Today, First Lady Supriya Jindal will distribute school supplies to students whose families have been impacted by the oil spill and deepwater drilling moratorium in coastal Louisiana. She will visit Boothville-Venice Elementary in Boothville at 11 AM. The First Lady will also visit W. Smith Elementary in Violet at 12:30 PM.

Emeril Lagasse Foundation Joins Fight to End Hunger in Las Vegas with Funding for Three Square Food Bank “Kids Cafe®”

LAS VEGAS (November 17, 2009) – At the Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s fifth anniversary “Carnivale du Vin,” a crowd of 700 guests gathered for an evening of food, wine and revelry on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at The Venetian in Las Vegas and helped raise $1.9 million for children’s causes.

Building on the Foundation’s mission to support children’s culinary arts, nutrition and education programs in communities where Emeril Lagasse has restaurants, Lagasse announced his Foundation’s partnership with Three Square food bank and a grant to establish Kids Cafe® – a program of Feeding America – in three Las Vegas area pilot schools, to provide nutritious afterschool meals to more than 500 students.  In addition to serving meals, the program will teach students healthy eating skills so they can make smart choices about food. As a result of this event, which continuously ranks among the “Top Ten U.S. Charity Wine Auctions” in Wine Spectator magazine, the foundation has granted over $3 million to charities on the Gulf Coast since the inaugural gala held in Las Vegas in October 2005.
