Lead Vocalist of Rock Band Grace Potter & the Nocturnals To Perform Solo Set on November 8
October 28, 2013 - New Orleans - Emeril Lagasse Foundation announces the addition of rock musician Grace Potter to the musical line-up at its annual fundraising food festival, Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s Boudin, Bourbon & Beer. Potter is lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of the Vermont-based band, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. Potter will headline the indoor/outdoor event, performing as a duo with fellow bandmate Matt Burr. Boudin, Bourbon & Beer, formerly Boudin & Beer, kicks off Emeril Lagasse’s annual fundraising weekend on November 8.
“We are beyond thrilled to add Grace to the musical line-up,” says Emeril Lagasse. “Not only is she an amazing high-energy performer, but she is extremely philanthropic, so it’s a perfect fit.”
Long regarded as one of the best live bands in America, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals have released four albums, most recently, the critically acclaimed The Lion The Beast The Beat. Potter, whom USA Today called “… the best female rock singer in the country,” describes the album by saying, “[it] plays on the duality of human nature - the fact that we all have our demons and we all have the ability to be good.” The album represents a rite of passage for the band that is knocking on the door of greatness.
Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s Boudin, Bourbon & Beer, co-chaired by Chefs Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali and Donald Link, has become one of New Orleans’ top culinary indoor/outdoor festivals, where over 4,000 guests will enjoy an array of boudin and artisan sausages created by over 40 prominent chefs from across the nation. The beer and bourbon will also be flowing thanks to major sponsors Abita Beer and Buffalo Trace Bourbon. Other bands in the lineup include Lost Bayou Ramblers, Holy Ghost Tent Revival and Packway Handle Band.
The country’s premier chefs including Cat Cora, John Besh, Aaron Sanchez and Rick Moonen, along with top vintners and first rate entertainment will also be descending upon New Orleans for the annual fundraising weekend to support the celebrity chef’s Emeril Lagasse Foundation. Famed red rocker Sammy Hagar & The Wabos, along with Miami-based Locos Por Juana, will be performing at the 9th Annual Carnivale du Vin, held the following evening. Carnivale du Vin is Emeril’s annual wine auction and black tie gala dinner, and has been named a “Top Ten U.S. Charity Wine Auction” by Wine Spectator magazine.
Funds raised go to the Emeril Lagasse Foundation, which supports children’s educational programs, life skills development initiatives, culinary training, and cultural enrichment in New Orleans and the Gulf south.
