Sample Ten Tastes of Delmonico for Ten Dollars Each
Delmonico, an icon in the New Orleans restaurant industry, has been in business on St. Charles Avenue since 1895. Re-established under the ownership and direction of Chef Emeril Lagasse in June of 1998, Emeril’s Delmonico commemorates its tenth anniversary with a week-long celebration and a special menu of Creole specialties.
Chef Emeril and Chef de Cuisine Spencer Minch have created a menu of ten dishes, including modern renditions of mainstays on the original Delmonico menu, presented in small-plate style for ten dollars each. The 10th anniversary menu is available June 23-29, with dinner served nightly beginning at 6:00 pm.
Taking over from Delmonico’s founder Anthony Commander, Anthony and Marie LaFranca operated the restaurant from 1911 until the 1970s, when they enlisted daughters Angie Brown and Rose Dietrich to continue their Creole traditions. The sisters oversaw the restaurant until 1997, when they chose Lagasse as the next proprietor to honor its rich heritage and history.
