Emeril Awards & Recognition

In addition to being a restaurateur, Emeril has become a national television personality. Host of the Food Network's highest-rated programs, "The Essence of Emeril" and "Emeril Live", he won the 1997 CableAce Award for "Best Informational Series." He can also be seen weekly as food correspondent for ABC's "Good Morning America."

The reception Emeril and his restaurants have received in the culinary community confirms his commitment to top quality and innovative food. In 1991, Food & Wine magazine named Emeril "ONE OF AMERICA'S TOP TWENTY-FIVE NEW CHEFS." The James Beard Foundation honored him as the "BEST SOUTHEAST REGIONAL CHEF" in 1991 and in 1997 nominated him for their highest honors: most "OUTSTANDING CHEF" and "OUTSTANDING SERVICE AWARD" for Emeril's Restaurant. Emeril's Restaurant has also received the "GRAND SPECTATOR AWARD" from Wine Spectator and "FOUR DIAMONDS" from Triple A Association. Emeril's was also dubbed "RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR" by Esquire in 1991. NOLA also received "RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR" by Esquire in 1993 and the "EXCELLENCE IN DINING AWARD" from DiRoNA in 2002. Emeril's New Orleans Fish House was recently named Zagat's Survey's "BEST NEW RESTAURANT" in Las Vegas and was awarded "BEST SEAFOOD RESTAURANT" by Las Vegas Review Journal . In 2003, Emeril's Delmonico received "FOUR DIAMONDS" from Triple A Association, and "FOUR STARS" from Mobil Travel Guide. In 2003, Emeril's Orlando received a "BEST RESTAURANT" Dining Award from Orlando magazine and an "EXCELLENCE IN DINING AWARD" from DiRoNA. Delmonico Steakhouse has received the award for "BEST STEAKHOUSE" in Las Vegas Life magazine in 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2003. In 2004, Emeril was chosen as “Executive of the Year” by Restaurants & Institutions magazine. In 2004, Delmonico Steakhouse received the "GRAND AWARD" from Wine Spectator magazine.

Emeril has received recognition from a wide range of national publications such as Bon Appetit, Entertainment Weekly, Child magazine, Food & Wine, USA Today, Southern Living, Newsweek, GQ, Gourmet, Esquire, Time, TV Guide and People. He has been seen frequently on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, Prime Time Live, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Chop Chop
At Emeril’s Tchoup Chop (pronounced chop-chop) in Orlando you’ll find first-class Asian and Polynesian cooking, complete with egg rolls, dumplings, Emeril’s favorite fried rice and mai tais. The restaurant is named after the famous street where Emeril’s flagship restaurant is located in New Orleans – Tchoupitoulas Street.
