I had heard of a peanut butter burger concoction on a menu at a restaurant in the French Quarter, but I just couldn’t remember the name of the place. I continued on with life knowing, in the back of my mind, that one day, I would be able to sample the curious combination of some of my beloved foods: creamy peanut butter and a beef patty sandwiched between two pieces of sesame buns. What could be wrong about that?

And then, about two weeks ago, my lovely significant other uttered the magical words “peanut butter burger,” at Yo Mama’s Bar & Grill. We made a bee line right after I got off of work; it was already dark and there was a terrible downpour that night. But, I was going to have my peanut butter burger. The plate was placed before me, the burger was dressed, the patty slathered with the peanut butter and topped with bacon pieces (another beloved food of mine). The burger was served with my choosing of macaroni and cheese.

 I have to say, that the burger did not completely live up to my expectations, but I was still pleased with the choice of ingredient combinations. I may try to make it at home one day, seasoning the meat a bit differently, using a different type of roll for the buns and warm pieces of bacon. However, if I ever get a craving for a fat, juicy burger unconcerned of the health consequences, I can see myself going back.
