I’m Cuckoo For Coco Puffs!
Post Author: Jenny McCoyWhen does one know that they shouldn’t purchase a box of Coco Puffs again? Is it when one realizes they have eaten three-quarters of the box within a 48-hour period? Is it when one realizes they can’t stop thinking about the last few slurps of chocolaty milk left in the bowl after the last spoonful of crispy puffs have been eaten? It is when one tries to explain to a friend about how they are benefiting from eating the cereal because of the anti-oxidants found in the chocolate? Just asking…

sounds like a slight case of obsessive compulsive disorder…… perhaps the nutrition content listed on the box is the giveaway that perhaps “buying this is a bad idea……”
but fruit loops are just fine

Just for general information. I attended CU Boulder from 1972-1978. Chris Miller who is the author of the slogan, “Cuckoo for Coco Puffs”, spoke there, at Mackie Auditorium, during one of those years?? Chris Miller among other things was a writer for
“National Lampoon”. During that speaking engagement,
he told the audience, that when facing writers block, he and his accociates would take, a smoking break.( read between the lines). Only when insatiable hunger set in did they decide on the slogan.
I hope I didn’t burst your bubble.
