Too Much Salt

Oversalted the soup or the gravy? Try adding chunks of raw potato.

These should remove the extra salt after cooking for a while in the soup or gravy. (Remove potatoes before serving.) Other possible remedies: add a bit more water to increase volume and thus dilute saltiness, add a few drops of lemon juice or vinegar, or add a few pinches of brown sugar. One of these should work!
